No touching allowed …
After serving her country, Georgia Trulane craves adventure—and sex. She's set her sights on her brother's best friend—now her boss, since she took a temporary job as his nephew's live-in nanny. Only problem? Eric refuses to touch her. That doesn't stop Georgia from seducing him. But an earth-shattering encounter leaves her fully exposed, body and soul.
Eric has a long list of reasons to steer clear of the woman he has wanted for as long as he can remember. For one, he refuses to be her next thrill ride. When he claims her, it will be for good. But the attraction is undeniable, and the more they fight it, the stronger it pulls. But will it be enough to conquer their obstacles?
I love when authors like to switch things up. We have Georgia who served in the military and has some PTSD. I am so used to reading guys with it that it’s nice to see it from a female prospective. And because Georgia is not an idiot and isn’t in denial, she knows she does her crazy stuff for some thrills to fell alive. (Enter the feels here.) She’s dealing with her time in theater and the things she’s been through and seen as best she can. So the logical thing to do when looking for your next thrill is to sleep with your boss right? It is when said boss has been her brother’s, Liam, best friend since childhood and she’s always had a crush on him. It helps a lot that she is a live-in nanny for Eric’s nephew at his house. Oh and Eric’s rich and sexy so he’s a hard man to resist. But seriously though, when you read this and you’re not even that far into the story and the characters fit so well, you think what is holding them back?
A main reason Eric holds Georgia at arms length (even though he admits in the book to having a crush on her for years) is the respect he has for Georgia’s brother. You know, the whole don’t date my sister thing comes into play. But Eric also feels that Georgia is acting reckless in the things she does and is not sure what to do about it. He knows that it’s because of her time served but he doesn’t really see the depth of the emotional toll that has been taken on her until a certain point in the book. That’s when the book gets really good and the feels start flying! There is one point where I’m pretty sure my heart turned into mush when Eric’s nephew, Nate, had a bad dream so Eric fell asleep on the floor holding his hand because he wanted him to feel safe and loved. Heart melting.
Another thing to point out are the sex scenes in this book. There is this one scene that involves a hot tub. Phew! When these two get together they are explosive. And you can tell that these two care so much for each other and route for them the whole book that when they finally come to their senses you shout yes! out loud. Not that I did that…maybe…
I am excited to see if the next book is going to be about Liam. He was an intriguing character and am interested to see what he’s going to be put through. Will definitely be looking for more info on the rest of this series. 🙂
